I exist, and am in a book

I've been taking this vacation from (public) writing called "law school." I hope to end the silence soon, but in the meantime I'm very happy to have my piece "The Meaning in the Margins" anthologized (whee!) in Full Stop's new limited-edition book, Full Stop: The Book, which "collects the best pieces the site has run these past five years, but in a book." Interview with Molly Crabapple

I had a fabulous time interviewing badass artist and reporter Molly Crabapple about her new memoir Drawing Blood (among other things). Molly's story is pretty amazing, and basically everyone I admire makes a camero appearance in the book. We talked about Occupy, Lena Dunham, and writing about her abortion.

Appropriations Bills and Guestworker Protections

The murky congressional appropriations process may be used to make substantive changes to the H-2B guestworker program. Several proposed riders, or add-ons to bills, could roll back protections for foreign and U.S. workers that have only been in place since April. Read about the proposed changes here.
